131 Christians Everyone Should Know

So I picked up this book at Barnes & Noble today at Americana (where I ran into Mr. Chang at Wetzel Pretzels!). I was actually looking to pick up a biography of somebody, hopefully an anointed book so that it inspires me and ignites a spark in my body of dead wood to become alive. Scoping out books and knowing only a handful of names, Billy Graham, Mother Therese, and St Augustine just to name a few, I realized I didn't know enough to pick a biography out that I was interested in, thus my selection of this neat piece of work.
It has about 3 pages per "Christian" ranging from those focused in arts to martyrs to theologians. Hopefully this will springboard me into finding a biography of a couple of these renowned characters.
Started off with Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The faithful follower truly understood the times and his role in Nazi Germany; however, it struck me when I read the first paragraph:
"The time is fulfilled for the German people of Hitler. It is because of Hitler that Christ, God the helper and redeemer, has become effective among us. . . . Hitler is the way of the Spirit and the will of God for the German people to enter the Church of Christ." So spoke German pastor Hermann Grunner. Another pastor put it more succinctly: "Christ has come to us through Adolph Hitler."
It struck me how deceived even the pastors were with Adolf Hitler's presence. The numerous comparisons between Hitler and the Anti-Christ boggle my mind because according to this one instance, even those who proclaim themselves as Christians will boldly state that "Christ has come to  us through the Anti-Christ" and Christ will be portrayed as the Anti-Christ. Furthermore, since the Anti-Christ is far more intelligent, charismatic, and simply put more powerful than Hitler, what Hitler was to Germans, Anti-Christ will be to the human race.

Oh God, gives us eyes to see and ears to hear before we are deceived.

Divine Appointments

God continues to amaze me with divine appointments. To just have an Acts 2:42 moment with those whose hearts are after God's is always refreshing and a reminder of God's Beauty and Grace.

Praise the Lord for His perfect timing.

Looking Back..

Spending time right now with the Lord, and He led me to relisten to my prophetic recording from July 7, 2008. I realized it's almost been half a year since then, and the journey the Lord has taken me since then. All beginning with Luke18Project, then The Call DC, where the Lord allowed me to align my heart with His. Then the grace He gave me over my 21 day fast on juice and water (which I believe allowed me to not stray too far when I dropped a little bit away from the Lord during Fall Quarter). Then the creation of prayer groups during the Fall Quarter, and also introducing Fasting and Prayer to Young Nak ECM for those that have never put it as a priority in their life. The Lord just guiding me in the one Sunday He gave me a chance to teach His Word. Then came my second trip to the middle of nowhere.

Here He put an urgency in my heart for His Second Coming. He also broke my heart and led me to tears. The Lord also guided me today to something Lou said, "Pay attention to your tears, because your tears point to your destiny." My heart grew heavy when I saw a blind man in the bathroom that I wanted the Lord to heal, and I just broke down when Misty played You Won't Relent / All-Consuming Fire. And just the two places the Lord is leading me is to just begin to speak with all boldness to speak His word, by stretching out His hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of His holy Servant Jesus (Acts 4:29-31)

Oh God, You are beautiful. Your plan, perfect. Intervene when I begin to write my own story, for I want to only live the story You write. Come be the fire inside me and the flame upon my heart. Burn all that is in the way of Your love, and purify the good thing.

So you will probably get better and faster responses from me if you send email to: johnlee@jlkirbee.com . Alright time to do some Business 20 Accounting homework. BLEH!

Dream of Ants

God spoke in a dream once more. I do not remember the details, but I remember just one thing which was there was an army of ants marching in a formation. The Lord says these will be the forerunners (also a handful will come out of UC-Riverside). Ants have the ability to prepare and gather for the winter ahead. There is a winter season for humanity ahead and the Lord is raising up his ants to gather and to store resources and to store the Word of God as food for the upcoming season.

Spirit of Convenience

I sit here reading through Jaeson Ma's blog and thinking man God has blessed his faithfulness to Him. Suddenly, this spirit of convenience and jealousy runs through my head, of almost wanting God to put in my life certain things to make me famous, and to do it NOW. But I struggle internally because famous or not famous, in God's eyes I am wanted.

God is bringing out the deep things that I want and presenting it to me as if I had to make a decision between Him or my desires. Being in this place of struggling against my flesh, I can't help but wonder, am I being legalistic about these things or is it because I truly love God.

God, why did you let this happen?

Amongst Christians and non-believers, the common question is "If God is a good God as the Word says, then why did God let xyz happen?"

Bob Sorge last Friday shared at EGS a verse in which it states that "God chastens those that He loves" (not verbatim, but close to it, I'll find the verse later). And all along the Word for that matter, there isn't one godly man who does not go through suffering and harship. In fact James says "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." God allows those who fall into trials to because it produces patience which when allowed to have its work, patience perfects & complete us, lacking nothing.

Patience perfects & completes us, lacking nothing.

In what manner does patience perfect us? That's something I challenge you to ask the Holy Spirit and He will reveal to you the multitude of ways that Patience perfects us. With patience comes gentleness, generosity, humility, etc etc.
